Early Learners’ Centre is Ofsted ‘Good’
Education watchdog Ofsted has awarded North Notts College’s Early Learners’ Centre a rating of ‘Good’ in all areas.
The nursery, which cares for children aged from two to four years old, is based at North Notts College on Carlton Road, and is open to children of students, staff and local families in the area.
The Ofsted inspection took place in January 2017 and confirmed the nursery is consistently a ‘Good’ nursery with ‘Good’ marks across the board.
Ofsted inspectors said
“the staff work closely with parents to maintain a wide knowledge of children’s interests and achievements, both at home and in nursery.”
“Staff purposefully engage with children and get down to their level. They are skilled at motivating and enthusing children in their play” and children “are well prepared for the next stage in their learning, such as school.”
The nursery has a five star hygiene rating and offers opening hours all year round from 8.00am until 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
“Initially my son struggled with settling in, but with the excellent support of the staff at the nursery he was soon settled and enjoyed his time. It can be hard to leave a small child when they are upset but the nursery were very supportive and would often send me messages to reassure me that he was happy and playing” said parent, Nicola.
Another parent, Sarah commented
“I cannot thank the staff enough for the time and support they have given not only to my son but myself. He did take a while to settle but through working together with myself and the Early Learners’ Centre team, his development is clear and he is now a sociable and confident little boy who looks forward to going to nursery and being with his friends.”
The nursery team were overjoyed to learn they had received a ‘Good’ grade.
Nursery Manager, Julie Truman said
“I am extremely proud of the Early Learners’ Centre team, we work incredibly hard to ensure that our children are happy and are given the best possible start in their early year’s education. The staff are very passionate about their work with our children and families and appreciate that their efforts have been recognised.”
