National Fluid Power Centre hosts 8th Annual Industry Exhibition Day
The National Fluid Power Centre (NFPC), part of the RNN Group, recently welcomed over 400 delegates and more than 70 exhibitors to its eighth Annual Industry Exhibition Day.
The thriving exhibition has become the go-to event for businesses in the Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Applied Electronics, Control and Automation industry. Guests had the chance to explore the latest product developments exhibitors, understand more about the range of training and skills development available and provided excellent networking opportunities.
Delegates also had the opportunity to attend specially curated technical lectures from industry heavyweights including Moog, Hydac Technology, Lubrizol and SIMM Engineering.
Moog Industrial Group Business Development Manager Jerry Hughes delivered a presentation about the Benefits and Application of Integrated Digital Pump Control, with emphasis on the Moog Radial Piston Pump RKP-D.
Jerry said: โIโve been blown away by the amount of interest that weโve had for the presentation. The room was full for the first session and we had a strong attendance for the second session too. Weโve had lots of interest from both young people and those with more established careers โ they want to learn about the benefits of a digital solution versus conventional pump control. It was also really good to be able to enhance the presentation with our Sales Partner, Darren Tait, MD at Oddy Hydraulics, who built the technology demonstrator.โ
Hydac UK Managing Director Darren Wait was one of the exhibitors who also engaged with a range of visitors who were looking for insight into the future of the sector.
Darren said: โWeโve seen a lot of interest today. As well as this stand weโre also presenting a lecture on the Application of Digitalisation and weโre talking about the philosophy, or strategy, in terms of Industry 4.0 and how that is going to be used in our facilities.
โAs long-term supporters of the NFPC, we view this centre as the primary facility for training engineers in our market place. We send a lot of engineers here for training – the offerings and variety of courses suit our business extremely well.โ
NFPC Director John Savage was the driving force behind the exhibition and was on-hand to welcome exhibitors and delegates to the venue.
John said: โToday is our flagship day, it is our eighth year of holding this industry exhibition and weโve got 71 national and international companies representing the world of hydraulics, pneumatics, applied electronics, control and automation. Weโve brought together the cream of the UK industry although we also have Roquet here, who have come across from Barcelona to exhibit here!
โWe had over 400 people through the doors, some of them had been here before, many of them hadnโt been – I had a meeting with Network Rail, they had never been here before and are highly impressed with the facilities so much so that we talked about a large cohort of their staff coming here for training.
โThe uniqueness of this Centre, and of this event, is the collaboration with UK industry. Technology is advancing at such a rate that we cannot stand still. We come together, despite the competition within the market, to put education, training and skills development first. We are all looking to contribute to closing the UK skills gap.โ
