RNN Training celebrates National Apprenticeship Week 2018
During National Apprenticeship Week (5th-9th March), RNN Training (the apprenticeship division of the RNN Group) held Apprenticeship Awards to celebrate the achievements of apprentices across South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire.
RNN Training invited local employers to nominate apprentices they felt had had a positive impact on their company and had progressed well in their apprenticeship.
Five winners were announced throughout the week, from engineering, construction, education, motor vehicle and business sectors across the region.
Supporting Teaching and Learning apprentice Lauren Hopkins was nominated by Kelford School for her enthusiastic and positive approach to helping the children in her class to overcome communication barriers. She has developed a strong relationship with her class and is considered to be a valuable member of the team.
Jamie Meekin, Site Joinery apprentice at Fortem, has been nominated for several apprenticeship awards during his apprenticeship thanks to his high standard of work and motivation to develop new skills. Jamie is now an advocate for apprenticeships, mentoring younger students on community projects.
Business Administration apprentice Amber Reynolds has started a promising career in the HR department of Pyronix, and sees the apprenticeship route as an opportunity to gain a qualification whilst learning new life skills at work. Described as her employers as “an integral part of the team,” Amber hopes to continue to develop her knowledge and skills in the field of HR.
Jake Baines, apprentice at Worksop Testing Centre, was nominated for an Apprenticeship Award after staff at the Centre were “amazed at what he was already capable of,” when he completed a work trial at the company. Since then, Jake has developed his knowledge and practical skills even further and hopes to become a full-time mechanic.
Engineering apprentice Reece Roberts has excelled in his apprenticeship at Generic Engineering, even helping to increase the efficiency of the company through introducing new innovative ideas. Staff at the company called him “a great asset to the business.”
“We are passionate about nurturing the talent of our students and I’m thrilled to see the success they are accomplishing in their apprenticeships,” Charlie Grayson, Business Development Manager at RNN Training, said.
It’s also brilliant to see local employers gaining so much from introducing apprentices into their teams and we will continue working to ensure even more organisations benefit from employing apprentices.”
Each winning apprentice received a certificate, £50 gift voucher and were featured on the RNN Training website.
