Bridging the Higher Education Gap in North Notts
In February 2022, the RNN Group expanded on the success of our flagship university centre, University Centre Rotherham, and our Higher Education (HE) / Degree Level offering by branching out into North Notts to make Higher Education and gaining a degree more accessible for the communities of Bassetlaw.
RNN Group, through University Centre Rotherham, become the first education provider to sign up to ‘The Bridge Skills Hub’, Bassetlaw Council’s flagship regeneration project supported by the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership.
Two years on, the offering is going strong with the RNN Group and University Centre Rotherham offering a range of exciting Higher and Degree Apprenticeships and higher-level qualifications within the Bridge Skills Hub to allow people of the local and surrounding areas easier access to higher-level skills and training in addition to their already well-established further education offer at both the Worksop and Retford Campuses of North Notts College.
Higher Education courses offered in Nottinghamshire
The Group’s provision was part of a phased opening of courses and expanding on what is offered at the North Notts College, Worksop and Retford Campuses which includes:
- Level 4 Lead Practitioner in Adult Care and Level 5 Leader in Adult Care
- Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies
- Foundation Degree in Professional Practice in Health and Social Care
- Access to Higher Education (Health) Diploma Health Science Professional Level 3
- Level 4 Diploma in Counselling
- Higher Apprenticeship Assistant Practitioner course
Facilities at The Bridge Skills Hub
The Bridge Skills Hub features cutting-edge facilities made to support a variety of programmes across business, childcare, and health sciences.
These include higher-level apprenticeships, foundation degrees, access to HE courses, and degree top-up courses.
Facilities include
- Six versatile classrooms that provide for smaller and larger class sizes, all equipped with Clevertouch Ultra HD 4K smart boards
- Clinical Training Suite and Mock Ward
- Auditorium, which seats up to 80 people
- IT Suite
- Informal learning and break-out spaces throughout the building
- Private office space for tenanted education providers
- WiFi throughout the building for students and staff
