Master your Education and Professional Development at University Centre Rotherham
University Centre Rotherham (UCR) opened its doors a little over five years ago as an affordable, friendly and flexible route to gaining top quality degrees in state-of-the-art facilities for local people. Rotherham finally had its own bespoke higher education (HE) centre providing access to Level 4 to Level 7 courses in a wide range of subjects to driven local people looking to make a difference and allowing our students to develop sought-after skills.
UCR is now offering a Level 7 Masterโs in Arts (MA) Education and Professional Development from January 2024.
The programme has been designed to further enhance the knowledge and skills of educational practitioners in three broad areas: critical reflection; policy and practice; and research and academic scholarship. It is an academically rigorous programme underpinned by commitment to professional development which draws upon a range of differing perspectives, academic disciplines and sustainable practices applied to the practitionerโs context. The purpose of the programme is to develop reflexive practitioners who shape and influence policy and its implementation within a changing professional context, whilst responding to the needs of learners, employers and organisations.
The blended learning model will allow for some flexibility in the modes of study additional support to students through personal and academic tutorials, group seminars, IT and library facilities.
This course is designed for those who are already in practice in an educational setting; this may be as a classroom-based Practitioner, Programme Leader or Manager and this could include voluntary roles.
Entry requirements include a recognised Honours Degree (first or second class) in an appropriate subject, a relevant APL will be considered. Applicants are required to be working (paid or voluntary) in an educational organisation.
This programme is intended to support professional and personal development and prepare graduates for new roles with greater responsibility, or support them in new teaching areas (such as Higher Education), or lead to improved teaching and learning skills to then have an impact on their own learners.
