Write down questions you have about academics, student life, financial support and plan the event to ensure you have all the answers to your questions.
Bring a notebook or use your phone to jot down important information and your impressions.
Parents and carers – if you are just as nervous about your student starting, you are welcome to come along too or you cannot make it, we have a special online parent webinar on 27th June in the evening which you can book onto: Book on to our parent webinar here
By attending a college open event, you can gain a comprehensive understanding of what it has to offer, helping you make an informed decision about whether it’s the right fit for you.
We have College open events on at Rotherham College on 5th June between 3.30pm and 6.30pm, as well as North Notts College and Dearne Valley College on 12th June. You are not too late to book onto any of these events, and if you prefer you can just turn up on the day too!
We also have special ‘quiet half-hours’ from 3pm at each of our open events if you don’t like crowds. You do need to book on for these smaller events to ensure you get the chance for some quiet one to one time with tutors, staff and students.
Next week, we will be talking to you about taster days, for learners who wish to try out a subject before committing to a course. Our College tasters days are during the last week of June, so you can come to an open day and then sign up for two or three subjects to try them out!
