Revision tips to support you over RNN Group College Holidays

Itโ€™s that time of the year again when itโ€™s the holiday before the exam term! Revision is a tough nut to crack for many and whether you are the one taking the exams this term or parents of young people taking exams, we hope these ten revision tips and plans help:

1. Make a study schedule

Plan your study schedule in advance, so you can cover all the topics before the exams. Make sure to allocate time for breaks, relaxation, and other holiday activities.

2. Set specific goals

Define specific study goals for each day or week, such as completing a certain number of practice questions, revising a particular chapter, or writing an essay on a given topic.

3. Use active learning techniques

Avoid passive learning, such as simply reading or highlighting texts. Instead, use active learning techniques such as summarizing, mind mapping, making flashcards, or teaching someone else.

4. Focus on weak areas

Identify your weak areas and give them more attention. Allocate more time to studying the topics that you find challenging or that you didn’t understand in class.

    5. Take regular breaks

Take regular breaks to avoid burnout and improve focus. Try to take a short break every hour or so, and engage in relaxing activities like stretching, walking, or meditating.

    6. Practice past papers

Practicing past papers is an excellent way to prepare for exams. It helps you understand the exam format, familiarize yourself with the types of questions, and identify any gaps in your knowledge.

    7. Collaborate with peers

Collaborate with your classmates to revise for the exams. Organize study groups, share notes, and discuss topics to reinforce your learning.

    8. Seek help when needed

Don’t hesitate to seek help when you need it. Consult with your teachers, tutors, or peers if you have any questions or doubts about the topics.

    9. Stay motivated

Stay motivated by reminding yourself of your study goals, rewarding yourself for achieving milestones, and staying positive even when faced with challenges.

    10. Get enough sleep and exercise

Finally, get enough sleep and exercise to maintain your physical and mental health. A healthy body and mind are crucial for effective studying and exam preparation.
