RNN Group Extends Partnership with Google Education Provider C-Learning

Students at RNN Group, which is made up of Rotherham College, North Notts College and Dearne Valley College, are to continue seeing the benefits of the world-leading online learning platform, Google for Education. The Group has recently entered into a new 12-month agreement with cloud learning company C-Learning.

C-Learning and the Group have worked alongside each other to implement a digital learning environment utilising Google programs. Students at the College can access learning and resources, through G Suite, independently at any time and anywhere.

Throughout the Coronavirus lockdown, students were able to access classes, submit their work online in Google Classroom, and maintain collaboration with their classmates and tutors through Google Hangouts.

With social distancing expected to still be in place in September, students across the Colleges can expect a blended teaching model that combines face-to-face classes with online learning.

RNN Group Head of Learner Experience and Quality, Rebecca Blackburn*, has worked closely with C-Learning over the last year and has led the team responsible for implementing G Suite across the College.

Rebecca said: โ€œWeโ€™re delighted to have signed a new agreement with C-Learning. The level of training and support we have received from Jamie and his team has been exceptional.

โ€œThe Google product range has been exactly what weโ€™ve needed, particularly since March when we had to move from traditional classroom delivery to an almost entirely online provision. And, with our plans to offer a blend of face-to-face and online learning from September, the intuitive and familiar feel of the G Suite tools will make that process a simple one.

โ€œOur ambition as a College is to equip all students and staff with the digital knowledge, skills and confidence to be successful in an increasingly digital world. Through our partnership with C-Learning, we are well on the way to achieving that aim.โ€

C-Learning Executive Chairman Jamie Smith and his team have worked closely with the College to provide advice and training to get the most from G Suite.

Jamie said: โ€œItโ€™s been a genuine privilege to support the RNN Group through the process of moving to Google for Education. I think the approach that you have taken with setting out a clear vision and putting people at the heart of that vision is key.

โ€œPeople must be at the centre of any transformation; it has been clear throughout our partnership that the needs of staff and students come first.

โ€œThrough utilising the technology, the College is producing people, both staff and more importantly students, that the world needs. You are creating agile, adaptive, flexible and creative people that have digital skills and can really add value to an organisation.

โ€œOn a personal level, Iโ€™m immensely proud to work with the RNN Group. What you are doing is not typical of other Colleges. When we first started working together the aim was to achieve Google Reference College status; the Group is well on the way to achieving that, and we look forward to playing our part in making that happen.โ€
