David Grimes

David currently works as a senior consultant in the areas of economic growth and skills development, and has extensive experience of managing large economic growth programmes both regionally and nationally. David recently led and managed a team which included over 25 regional business growth specialists alongside a wide range of regional support programmes for the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. Over the past 19 years David has also directly been involved in supporting many hundreds of businesses including large global organisations to smaller local businesses on business growth and skills development projects. 

David has a first-class Honours Degree and an Executive MBA both from the University of Sheffield, he is an experienced and current non-executive director, having recently completed 8 years as a trustee and Vice Chair for Barnsley Civic Enterprise. He is also a Chartered Manager, Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts and Manufacturing.
