Debra Adams

Prior to working in Further and Higher Education, Debra Adams held a variety of jobs, firstly as a qualified hairdresser and then latterly in the Emergency Health Care sector including GP Centres, DRI Antenatal and Gynae Clinics, Gynae Theatre and Emergency Doctor Services and collaboration with multi emergency agencies.

Debra then went onto pursue a career in the fitness and wellbeing sector and became a self-employed Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer and GP Referral practitioner, prescribing exercise for individuals with specific medical conditions and delivering a range of fitness activities from Aqua aerobics, step aerobics, slide, Circuit Training, Gym based, body pump and personal training.

In 1999, Debra pursued a career in Further and Higher Education as a Sport and Public Services lecturer whilst working towards a BA (Hons) and QTS. In 2005 she became the Assistant Director for the Academy of Wellbeing in a large further education organisation. Debra then joined the RNN Group’s Curriculum Management in August 2016 and has been the Interim Campus Manager at Dearne Valley College since August 2022.
