Simon Ashton

Simon joined the Board in October 2024. He works in the Further Education and Skills sector as Assistant Principal for a large national training provider. In his role is he responsible for the overall strategic approach to Student Support, SEND and Student Experience for the provider’s national provision which is split across 12 sites in England.

Prior to his current role, Simon has held leadership and management roles in curriculum and has a background in teaching, learning and assessment having started in the sector as a teacher of Sports and Functional skills English and Maths.

He is particularly committed and passionate about supporting people from disadvantaged backgrounds or that have experienced barriers to education previously so that they are able to succeed and achieve to improve their lives through Further Education.
