Study local, go far – North Notts College to deliver higher-level qualifications at the new £3.5m Bridge Skills Hub
The RNN Group are delighted to be the first education provider to sign up to ‘The Bridge Skills Hub’ – Bassetlaw Council’s flagship regeneration project – which is currently taking shape at Bridge Court in Worksop. The new £3.5million state-of-the-art education hub aims to create further opportunities for the Bassetlaw community and meet the emerging needs of local and regional employers.
North Notts College and RNN Training (both part of the RNN Group) will be offering a range of exciting Higher and Degree Apprenticeships and higher-level qualifications within the centre from April to allow people of the local and surrounding areas easier access to higher-level skills and training in addition to their already well-established further education offer at the College.
The state-of-the-art Skills and Education Hub aims to give Bassetlaw residents a better future and will address skills shortages in the area so that current and future employer needs can be met across a range of sectors.
As well as initially offering opportunities across a range of subjects including Health and Social Care, Childcare and Leadership and Management, it is anticipated that more diverse subjects will be offered as the provision is expanded.
As part of a phased opening, RNN Group will expand the current level of provision provided by their North Notts College campus and will offer courses and higher and degree apprenticeships ranging from Levels 4, 5 and 6 including:
- Level 4 Lead Practitioner in Adult Care
- Level 5 Leader in Adult Care
In addition, there will be courses starting as part of the new academic year in September that include:
- Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies
- Foundation Degree in Professional Practice in Health and Social Care
- Access to Higher Education (Health) Diploma Health Science Professional Level 3
- Level 4 Diploma in Counselling
- Higher Apprenticeship Assistant Practitioner

“This state-of-the-art skills hub is being created with modern high-class facilities for its future students to develop and I welcome the RNN Group taking the lead and using The Bridge to increase their range of courses for local people.
Creation of ‘The Bridge’ has been supported by the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership with funding of £3.5million from their allocation of the Government’s Getting Building Fund.
